Sarcoma UK is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. It is the only cancer charity in the UK focusing on all types of sarcoma. 

A sarcoma is an uncommon cancer of the bone and soft tissue, which can take the form of over 100 different subtypes. Sarcoma patients and their families represent less than 2% of all cancer patients, but this rises to 14% of childhood and young adult cancers. A sarcoma is different from more well-known diseases as sarcomas are mostly unresponsive to traditional treatments of chemo and radiotherapy. 

Sarcoma has a devastating impact on the lives of everyone it affects, but it has escaped the priorities of medical and scientific research. Currently, only 55% of sarcoma patients survive for more than five years, which is shocking, when compared to 98% of testicular cancer patients.
